Portfolio March 2015

Symmetry and Sharing (2015)
The video embedded below is a short preview of my most recent piece, an SATB vocal percussion quartet for Möbius Percussion. It's growing into a massive collaboration involving staging, movement, and video projection. I've also included the full score.

The Exchange (2014/2011)
The concert version of this piece was completed in 2011 and performed at Princeton University, the Queens New Music Festival (Queens, NY), Cakeshop, (New York, NY) and Westbeth (New York, NY).  Mark DeChiazza and I collaborated to create the film treatment below, completed in 2014 after a successful crowdfunding campaign. Since completion we've screened the film at UnionDocs center for Documentary Art in Brooklyn, NY, the Action on Film International Film Festival in Monrovia, CA, and the Big Apple Film Festival in New York, NY.

Trust Fall (2015/2009)
NOW Ensemble's forthcoming New Amsterdam Records release, called Dreamfall, includes this piece I wrote for them in 2009. I've included the unreleased master recording, below, as well as a score.

Electrobot (2012)
This piece, with video documentation and score below, detaches conventional, percussive keyboard technique from the typical sounds associated with it. Each key of a black-key pentatonic scale triggers a long sample with its own rhythmic profile. This performance is from the 2012 So Percussion Summer Institute, with visuals and staging by Mark DeChiazza. It was also performed at the Ammerman Center at Conn College for their Biennial Symposium on Technology and the Arts.

Future Sevens (ongoing)
This project is intended to be a platform for releasing new music, or as Dan Trueman put into my head, to celebrate the creation of new music. I've embedded the tracks below for reference,  but please click here for the full effect. The idea is simple: create an A side track and a B side track, collaborate with great artists for cover images, write liner notes, share. This has been my outlet, of late, for non-notated music that I record and perform myself. There's always a new one in the works.

Babybot (2011)
This percussion quartet is my most frequently performed composition. Below you'll find video documentation of the premiere performance, at the So Percussion Summer Institute, as well as a score.
