My new percussion quartet, Electrobot, will be premiered this July in Princeton, at the Matthews Acting Studio on Saturday, July 21 at 8PM. Here's video of last year's SoSI participants doing a great job with Babybot, another piece in the series.
I'm pleased to announce my participation in this summer's Wassaic Festival, over the weekend of August 3-5. I'll be playing songs arranged for the sampler instrument (keys, pads, pedals, laptop) I've been developing. Here's video of a recent performance in Long Island City. Check the Refused t-shirt, graciously purchased at their Terminal 5 show by former students. I mess up at the end. Writer, dancer, and co-conspirator extraordinaire Casey Brown did a nice feature on my music on Princeton's Intersections, though some would argue that I am not "chill." "Cool," though, is unassailable. Casey Brown interviewed me for my thoughts on the role of hip-hop in international protest movements. I didn't really know what I was saying, so she wrote this instead. |
